I'm so glad you got to see it! Low clouds blanketed the sky here--in the middle of drought and no rain from them either--and I got up 4 times anyway just in case there was a clearing.
But I did once spend three hours on a Florida beach watching our shadow slide across the moon as moon-driven waves lapped the beach. It was magic. Then and now.
It's been raining for the last week, near incessantly, so here in sunny LA we didn't get the chance to see this historic event. Thank you for posting some photos -- was it amazing?
No chance of seeing it here, but I saw on the news this morning, lol! Very cool! We had a big dump of snow that is actually, as I look out the window, still obscuring the sky!
Elizabeth: It was amazing.We had a clear, starry night. I woke up at 1:39AM and ran out to see it beginning. Watched a while...went back to sleep. Woke up at 2:30Am and lay upside down on the twin bed in the sewing room to watch out the window!I I had it all to do over I would have gotten a sleeping bag (it was cold out!) and a lounge chair and lay in the back yard for the approx. 3 hours it took. As it was my neck was killing me from trying to look up. This is how you know you're getting way too old!
Essie and Kathleen: So sorry you didn't get to see it. I was surprised when it cleared up here as the weekend was miserable, cold and cloudy.
I didn't stay up but managed to get up inspite of the muscle relaxers and pain killers (hurt back). I even woke Tiff. I am sooo glad that I did. We both LOVED it. Mrs. M
